The Belly has Arrived

Well, my pregnancy belly has officially arrived. I am not big on belly pics but I thought that there are some people who I don't see very much who want to see how I am growing. I am feeling more and more like a pregnant lady every day. I can't complain at this point as I have felt pretty good through the pregnancy so far. I am now 23 weeks along. It feels crazy to be over half way there! It has gone by really fast. Honestly, I really have not focused too much on pregnancy cause I just have been focused on getting my school done. I am defending my masters thesis on December 14th and have been crazy busy working and preparing for that. I still have a lot to do before then but I will be so happy to get it over with. Wahoo! I have definitely been in school way toooo long and I am ready to say asta la vista to that!

For those of you who don't know, we found out a few weeks ago our little nub is going to be a boy! We are so excited! Before we went for the ultrasound are thoughts were that we would be having a girl but we are perfectly happy knowing we won't have to worry about any head bows this time around. It may sound crazy but in the 3D pictures our baby kind of looks like he has James' profile. It made us excited to see what he is going to look like. I guess only time will tell...

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Halloween at Azkaban

So I was the Prisoner of Azkaban for Halloween. Here are a few of the pics.
These are the pants we bought to use for my prison bottoms. They were women's plus size 5xl that we just tailored for my purposes.

Anniversary

I wanted to post some pictures of our anniversary adventure we had back in August. It was our three year celebration. Because we are poor, we decided to do something in Logan that we had never done before instead of going anywhere. We rented some sit-on-top kayaks from the USU outdoor rec center, strapped them on top of the Oldsmobile (seabiscuit), and went on a journey for the day. We had a great time just paddling around and feeling so outdoorsy and adventurous!

Just some nice legs chillin' on the kayak. Doesn't this look serene?

We call this the danielson (from karate kid).

We pulled our kayaks together for a quick pic on the lake. You can tell how much we get out in the sun wearing swim suits by our lovely coats of white!

This picture is at first dam. After paddling around for a while in the marsh (location of the first pictures) we tried to find some cleaner water to try paddling. Although it looks nice in the pictures, the marsh was really murky and I was slightly scared that I was going to row up a dead animal carcass at any second... First dam was much clearer and cleaner but man it was freezing! So I guess take your pick, warm and murky or cold and clear. Not really sure what I prefer...hmm

We had a great time and got some awesome leg burns which I wish I had pictures of to share. The tops of our legs were bright red from the sun. James' actually looked quite hilarious! I had some sunscreen on mine but missed a few spots so I looked like I had a birthmark on my legs for a few months. It is just barely fading. Hope you enjoy the pictures of our fun day!

New Favorite Music Video

I saw this the other day and decided it was my new favorite music video. I just love the song and the dancing cracks me up. I also really love the whole Mexican store theme. I bet they had so much fun making this. Sara Bareilles has really grown on me over the past few years. She does have some kinda random stuff but also some really good songs. This is from her new CD. Enjoy!

Sunday Walks

We like to go on Sunday walks these days. The weather is lovely and James loves to look for things to take pictures of. Here is one great one he took at the temple.

Free Time

This is the in-between stages.

The new, the best part was getting all of those books off the floor again! We decided it will look great when we have white walls (instead of wood paneling) someday.

Weddings

We have been going to a bunch of weddings lately. It has been fun to see some of James' best buddies tie the knot! We are sooo happy for them!

This is a pic of the boys at Ryan's Wedding.

Here is some pictures at Manti's Wedding. James and Manti, buddy-o-pals.

It was a rockin' party. James was able to lay out some of his famous dance moves! Too bad I did not get any pictures of that.

The boys again. Look at how sharp they look! Ohh!

The boys with Manti and Rachel.

Us, the not so newly weds. We love our lives!

Longing for Logan Summer

Logan summer is the best time of year! All of the students leave, the weather is not too hot, the hikes are awesome, and it is just plain peaceful and beautiful! We have had a few glimpses of summer that have made me excited for the few months of warmth we get here! Just a few weeks ago it was about 75 so we took a hike to the wind caves with James' brother Dan who was visiting. Here are a few pics we took at the top.

Seven years...can really give you a crick in the neck!

Yes! We made it! After many long years (okay so not really 7, more like 6.5) of changing majors and taking loads of credits James finished his Bachelors degree in Accounting May 7th! We are both so excited that he is done and can take a break from school hopefully forever, but you never know. I thought I would quit with my Bachelors but here I am still in school...I too will be done soon though. I only have one more class and writing my thesis to finish so I should be done by December! Wahoo!

Some family came up for the graduation and we had a fun time visiting and eating some delicious white chili, rolls and hummus with veggies! Thanks for all who came! It was fun to visit.

James is enjoying having free time with no homework and just applying for jobs like crazy. We are hoping to get one and move from Logan soon (hopefully somewhere warmer!). We are open to anywhere in the USA but are leaning toward Salt Lake area or somewhere in Texas. So far we have not had much more than an interview so we are still applying and hoping something good will work out soon!

March Maddness

If your husband loves march madness as much as mine does chances are you may be asking yourself this question...Is there any part of the year when basketball is not on? Well just to let all who are wondering know the answer is yes! Even with pre-season, regular season and post season games as well as the longest season of ANY sport there are actually a few months of the year when basketball is not on. So as for now, do what I do. Make some veggie pizza and enjoy another game! MMMMM delish!

B-Ball

This is James' favorite purchase of the week. A mini basketball he can use to practice dunking and doing tricks with. No problem palming this!

Snowboarding

We have got to go snowboarding a few times this year. We took James' brother Daniel for his first few times this past month and taught him the ropes. He did great and we had a ton of fun snowboarding some fresh powder at Brighton night boarding! The resort is really fun and they have great 2 for 1 deals for poor people like us. We tried out the terrain park with the half-pipe, rails and jumps and took a few falls but luckily we all came out in one piece. We got some film footage where we had to laugh at how we look like complete amateurs but who cares, it was awesome!

Born in the 80s

I have been wanting to get a new hair style. I was debating between cutting it off or getting bangs. Well, as you can see I decided to go with the bangs. It is a fun new change. I am having fun trying out new styles with my new cut. Isn't it hilarious how styles come back? If you would have asked me in my high school wanna be skater days if I would ever have bangs and wear skinny jeans I would have definitely said, "Never" but now I have both! What can I say, I was born in the 80s. Gotta love trends!

Trucker Metal

Continuing in the theme of getting rid of the old we decided to get fix our "trucker metal" vanity this week. Yes, that is right literally trucker metal. For almost 3 years now half of our mirror has been a lovely piece of metal. Not just any metal mind you but the thick kind with rivets that would most likely be used to make a tool box for the back of a truck. We have always wished that both of us could see ourselves in the mirror at one time or that the handle to pull the side of the mirror was not a screw but due to cheap rent and our ability to be grateful we have never done anything about it (o.k. so maybe we are just lazy). After requesting a new vanity a few times we decided to take matters into our own hands. We found a mirror at D.I. and had it cut at a local glass shop into the right dimensions. It was a little too thin so James cut some thin wood and he glued in on as a backing. We then purchased some little stick on handles and put those on as well. And there you have it. For a total of $18 we now have an AMAZING mirror(compared to our old one at least). I slides perfectly and one person does not have to move so the other can see them-self. We were so amazed at how great it was that for at least a half a day we both had to keep going in and look at it(just to make sure it was real). It is so great to feel that we are no longer looking at a trucker toolbox every time we enter the bathroom! Goodbye trucker metal! Wahoo!

Fire Dryer

This week was a week of getting rid of the old and bringing in the new. On Wednesday I was blow drying my hair and all of the sudden sparks starting flying out of my dryer! Luckily none of those sparks landed on my head but it was still kind of scary incident. I have actually been wanting to get a new dryer so I have been hoping it would die sometime but it is one of those things that when it actually happens you are sad mostly because you do not want to spend money getting a new one. Anyway, after some bad hair days and internet searching I found an awesome deal on this super powerful professional quality dryer. So it is out with the old and in with the new!

The Holiday Full of Love

We went to the traditional valentines dance for our stake a few weeks ago. It was a blast! They had catered food, ice cream (our favorite treat), and of course dancing. There was sort of a photo booth where we got this shot taken. They even provided the props to use (boa and glasses). It was a fun night!

And were back...

So we created this blog with high hopes of sharing our fun life with all who cared to follow and yet we have not really posted much since. We thought that maybe we would get into this blogging thing but as you can see one post every year or two is not really "getting" into it. So, we are going to try again to attempt blogging. As you can see I updated the look and I am already feeling much better about it. I am going to take and gather a few pictures and then I will be posting some happenings in our world. See yah soon!
